This Eco Fair is a starting point and a springboard to launch Green Barcombe and the website.
We welcome everybody and hope that different people will be inspired to take different actions on different aspects of Green Barcombe.

VISION
We are incredibly fortunate to live in beautiful Barcombe. Surrounded by unspoilt countryside and home to an abundance of thriving wildlife—as confirmed by local surveys—our parish is a special place. But with creeping development, rising traffic levels and the growing impact of climate change, how can we protect the natural heart of Barcombe? How can we ensure Barcombe stays green?
The key aims of Green Barcombe:
To preserve, sustain and improve the natural assets we have in Barcombe to the greatest degree possible. These include the Wildlife Corridor, the river and its tributaries, local woodland and communal areas such as Wild About Barcombe and the allotments. To preserve, sustain and improve the flora and wildlife that live in these areas and all over the parish. To educate and involve the people of the village and surrounding areas about the ways they can support these important areas and the wildlife/plant life that lives there. To encourage people to cultivate biodiversity in their own little bits of Barcombe. To provide information about energy efficiency, especially for those in fuel poverty, alternative renewable energy solutions, and education about how these can contribute to slowing down climate change. To encourage and enable alternatives to car travel by working with local organisations on cycle routes, footpaths and better bus services.
Let’s work together to keep Barcombe green, vibrant and sustainable for generations to come!
